I was making my morning coffee, it's been about a month since we last cut the grass and dandelions filled the yard. They might be weeds but they are such a delight.
Among the grass are three curious cockatoos, digging and foraging, enjoying the warmth of the early sun. I used to be so afraid of birds, but because I've been walking to school with my son and he thinks they're the cutest ever. It made me soften a bit and I am able to appreciate their beauty and intelligence.
I watch them peacefully as I drink my coffee and they helped me feel so present as I watched them go about and do their bird things.
Then they flew away, off to experience more adventures.
I painted this to capture the magic and peace I felt when I witnessed these three fellows come to visit.
