Welcome to my house
The name Phuto is a play on my name and the (ninth!) planet Pluto.
Pluto is the planet of rebirth, transformation and a quiet power.
That’s the heart of this brand. A place that encourages expression, courage, and creativity. The kind that helps people evolve in their own unique way.
I’m Phuong but friends call me Phu.
I’m an artist from Sydney who traded AutoCAD for paintbrushes and never looked back. My work is always morphing, inspired by the quiet magic of everyday life in Australia, the stories hiding in small moments.
Art became the way I found my way home to myself. After burning out in my engineering career and walking away from a difficult chapter of my life, creativity became my anchor. It helped me rebuild, reconnect, and remember how to be my authentic self.
Now I get to share that magic with others not just through my paintings, but through teaching. My charcoal drawing workshops help people reconnect with their creativity, even if they’re convinced they can only draw a stick figure. Watching someone feel proud and gaining a new perspective is what I live for.
I’m also developing an abstract painting workshop all about surrender, self-expression, and letting colour lead the way. It’s a soft, spacious environment where people can breathe, play, and make something they’re proud to hang.
The Holiday Fund is an art project where I experiment weekly, painting in roughly A3 size and selling it at a price point that is excellent for first time art collectors. Every dollar I make goes towards our family trip to Vietnam. Currently, I have only my favourites available in my shop.
When I’m not in the studio, you’ll probably find me wandering Sydney with my son, pulling tarot cards or hatching my next creative project, like making candles or writing a zine.
The plan is to share more of the ins and outs of Phuto Art House as I’d love to share more of what I learn about running my own art business. Everything in time.
You can follow my journey on Instagram at @phutoarthouse or see my current offerings in my shop. If you love what you see but want something more specific, let’s work together. You can contact me here.
