Not another team-building activity.

Not every team-building activity needs to be loud.

Creative Lab offers a quieter kind of connection. Ones where conversation happens naturally through a shared creative experience.

Choose what your team will draw.

Creative Lab has a small collection of drawing subjects that are approachable for beginners. From botanicals and natural specimens to everyday objects.

Or, if there's an object with particular meaning to your organisation, we can create a custom study around it.

Designed by Phuong Nguyen.

Artist, facilitator and founder of Phuto Art House.

I spent years working in engineering and fast-paced environments where switching off didn't come easily. Creative Lab grew from my own search for a slower, more thoughtful way to reconnect with creativity. Today, I design welcoming charcoal drawing workshops that help teams step away from constant problem-solving and rediscover the joy of making something with their own hands.

Whether I'm working with a corporate team, community group or school, my goal is the same: to create a welcoming space where curiosity matters more than perfection.

What people are saying 💌

I felt like I was getting first class treatment today with a small class. After a creative and soothingly energetic class on charcoal drawing, it was like my inner dimmer light was brightened, I felt refreshed. I showed my friends at the Markets and they were totally impressed and shared my revelation, with glee, in that I may have a hint of artistry running in my veins. It was a lovely location. The room enabled people walking past a glimpse of what we were doing. Not that it mattered, we were encased in our own world of imagination, having fun. Thank you

  • Annette

Phuong's Creative Lab helped me de-stress, unclutter my mind, and connect with myself through charcoal drawing. Under Phuong's gentle guidance, I felt like a kid in art class: experimenting, playing and getting my hands dirty. I loved both the process and the results. It showed me a deeply enjoyable (and efficient!) approach to creativity. Thanks for opening the door to a new medium and giving me the tools to keep going!

  • Jessie

I never thought that I'd enjoy sketching as much as I did when Phuong came over to teach us. It was relaxing, engaging and fun!

  • Irene

I didn’t just enjoy the moment but I walked away with reflections that brought me peace and clarity. Thank you for the experience, highly recommended!

  • Faith

Thank you Phuong and I liked your timing of the session.

Your three activities taught me different techniques, which layered upon another into effectively draw a picture. I love how a series of lines with shade can create a thought.

It was interesting using charcoal. I enjoyed getting it in my fingers from many a time around a fire, for me was relaxing.

Yes you’ve inspired me to draw more!

  • Noel

Phu was very professional and came well prepared - she was detail oriented and was able to step us through a complicated bespoke request.

  • Shirley

It really ended up being a really pretty picture and I totally get all the shadows and sunlight spots. Amazing job with the instructions Phuong!
